The government of Chile has been developing the Interlagos Network for 20 years. It has six circuits and more than 2,000 km of roads that transport visitors along a geography shaped by the force of volcanism, bathed by large lakes, upholstered by the green of the oldest forests on the planet and inhabited by ancestral cultures. This network of roads has generated connectivity between potential poles of tourist development and other consolidated in the regions of La Araucanía, Los Ríos and Los Lagos. At the foot of the Andes of southern Chile and northern Patagonia, articulates as the backbone to the 6 circuits of this network, born the Scenic Route Lakes and Volcanoes, the First Scenic Route of Chile, which has a unique layout, unmissable for lovers of pristine nature and makes own the most beautiful sections of the network scenic beauty.
The challenge of this Mesoregional Program is to position the Scenic Route Parks, Lakes, and Volcanoes - or Interlagos Network - as a world-class tourist destination, through the development of an articulated, diverse, quality, and sustainable tourism offer, and to capture the growing demand for adventure tourism, nature, and culture.
This will improve productivity in rural areas of the regions of La Araucanía, Los Ríos, and Los Lagos, increasing the level of employment in the most fragile segments of the population, and always ensuring environmental sustainability as a critical factor in the purchase decision of potential visitors.
